Labor Day Brunch with Mrs. V. The wife discovered this classic family diner located in Old Town Peoria via Google. We were greeted and seated immediately. The moment you walk through the doors you get the vibe that this is a place for locals, and regs. Despite being slammed, our server was amazing. She advised us that this is a fave eatery for police and fire department personnel. The food which was perfectly portioned was absolutely delicious!!

Was in Peoria Sunday and decided to give this cool little spot a shot. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and breakfast potatoes. Chicken fried steak was above average earthing else was average. They had a cool little patio we sat and had breakfast on. Overall, 4 stars 🌟

The hot roast beef sandwich is amazing. Huge and delicious.
The Cowboy Breakfast with chicken fried steak is always a favorite choice for breakfast.
Their Friday fish fry is really good also.
Their Garbage Omelet is really good. Especially when the top it with their sausage gravy.
They make a pretty good Chili Melt as well.
One of the things that keep me coming back besides the good food is the wonderful service that I have received there.

I understand times are tough, but when I pay $23.00 I expect some menudo not just Hominy.. my poor son that’s all he wanted this morning, he was very disappointed. I did call them told them . I didn’t want nothing for free or exchange it .I just wanted to let know I wasn’t happy. She said she would let the kitchen know .. highly doubt it was their fault!! I always go there with my wife and kids. I’ll think twice about going there now . #hurt

If your after impeccable vibes, great food, and amazing service you’ve found the right spot.
Hard to find good diner food anywhere outside of the East Coast and Peoria Cafe has carefully cultivated their menu, and experience over decades providing exactly that. Although not much has changed over the years we have been coming here, that’s a great thing and rare to have a staff and community so strong after so many years.
We are here literally every weekend with our grandparents and it can get busy but is ALWAYS worth the wait (which is a testament to how amazing their food is) If you want to walk right in it’s a bit less crowded during the week!
10/10 and I have never had a bad meal here.
Highly recommend the cinnamon roll (when it’s not sold out) Philly Cheesesteak(best outside of Philadelphia) Menudo, and Cowboy.
Let this place be a staple in your family’s routine as well, couldn’t be happier when I’m here if I tried.
